Yokomo MR4TC-LCG

Well I got the chassis Monday afternoon and I got to work on it as soon as I got home. The extra $100 I sent the seller for extra parts was well worth it. He sent me a lot of extra parts not only for the LCG but for the BDM as well. He even sent me another LCG top and lower deck unused. I started by putting the longer shock ends and the soft springs on and adjusting the angle of how the shocks go. Before I sold the SD I filled in a setup sheet so I can guide myself off if and have a starting point. What I did was use the exact same shock positions as the BDM because my BDM is running sweetly. After all that I had to put in my electronics. I put in my GTB 10.5 but I had a problem with that setup about 6 months back. The capacitor metal strip touched one of the motor cables while I hit the throttle. It melted the capacitor strip and I switched it. Besides that I once put in my lipo backwards so something in the speed controller was causing a lag. It got really bad lately so what I did was since Im not gonna be using my Square TA05 for the next comp, I stripped its electronics and put them in the LCG. I went outside for a test run and it ran very sweet. A couple of minutes into the run the motor locked up on me. I knew it wasnt the front ball bearing because I replaced it no more then 3 months ago. So I took apart the motor and it comes out to be the rear bearing. Only bad thing is that the rear bearing locked up and everything got so hot from the friction that the rotor inside the motor would not come out. Finally after about and hour of pulling and turning, I went outside my house at 3 in the morning with a hammer and small tip screwdriver. I placed the motor upside down on the floor with one hit the rotor popped out. I always have extra everything so I swapped bearings, put everything back together and did another test run at around 3:30 am last night. Ran very smooth and very nice.

Current setup:
Front - Camber at 1.5 degrees, Toe at 1 degree out, Front one way
Center - One way
Rear - Camber at 1.5 degrees, Toe at 3 degrees in, Open Ball Diff

The car is running very lose right now. Its the setup I wanted from the beginning for this chassis but since the square is out of commission and the BDM is gonna be the main chassis at RD 3, Im gonna have to tune it to my normal setup so it could be a backup if needed. All in all Im very pleased with the chassis. Here are some pics with the electronics.

you might want to get rid of those world's outdrives. i've belted, bent and broke many of them. now i have the hardened universals and not even a nick on them!

just a pointer...

btw, RAYSPEED FTW!
